Green Day és una banda de Punk rock nord-americà format fonamentalment per tres components principals: Billie Joe Armstrong en guitarres i veu líder, Mike Dirnt en baix i cors i Tré Cool en bateria. El grup oriünd d'Oakland, Califòrnia es gest prematurament el 1987 sota el nom de Sweet Children, però va ser el 1989 quan van canviar al nom actual i es va incorporar el bateria Tré Cool, com a membre permanent en reemplaçament de John Kiffmeyer.
